Writing an Object Label
Choose one Viking ship timber from a museum description. Give yourself fifty words to explain what a visitor can see and why it matters.
In the field notebook
Use the first sentence for an observable detail such as an edge, a fastening or a change in thickness. Use the next for an interpretation supported by the museum. Read the two aloud and check that the second sentence does more than repeat the first.
Add the collection or exhibit reference so that another reader can find the same object.
